Autumn, vintage style.

I hope you’ve all been well.

Autumn is here,  Halloween, Bonfire night and kicking around leaves! These are the only reasons I love this time of year (and christmas) as I really hate the cold! On Halloween I never like to dress as the same character twice, my outfits are most of the time Disney themed or comic book themed, occasionally scary costumes.. This year I decided to be Poison Ivy and sewed some faux leaves on to a corset, but there was also a dress up day at work, so decided to be Jigsaw from Saw. In a moment of boredom I also decided to play around with make up and become Frankenstein’s Monster’s Bride! All the make up I used was just in my make up box and inspired by videos on YouTube.

This December I’m going back to New York with my boyfriend, Matt, which I can’t wait for! It’s definitely going to be freezing so I needed a new coat; a coat that’s warm but a vintage, old hollywood style. I ended up buying a Topshop red faux fur collar coat, which is so lovely.

I’ve also been experimenting with more vintage hair styles, using foam rollers and pin curls with 1:1 water and setting lotion to wet set it. I normally use heated rollers or do “headband curls” overnight, which is where you just wrap your hair around a headband over and over; there are YouTube videos for this! But I feel this doesn’t hold for long or give that classic vintage look as well; So below are the results of my hair sets, how I did it and the vintage hair inspiration from my favourite old hollywood and current actresses for the look.

Also this month I purchased a lip product called Velvetines in “Red Velvet” by a company called Limecrime. This product is amazing, it’s like a lip gloss but comes out like a matte lipstain/lipstick. You know this product is good when I use it more than my beloved Mac’s Russian Red! I make sure I put a lipliner on first so it doesn’t bleed, I use Mac’s Cherry lipliner but whatever works for you!

Here are the photos to sum up my month with my old hollywood inspiration as always. Thanks for reading!

Red September

I hope all my readers have been well!

Yesterday was me and my boyfriend Matt’s 7 year anniversary and it was such a lovely day; he surprised me with flowers, chocolates and bought me a lovely Vivienne Westwood watch and a meal at the Cowshed in Bristol.

This month has also been a sad one for me as last weekend my 94-year-old Grandad whom I’ve lived with since I was 14 moved to Yorkshire to be looked after by his son.

The photo’s below sum up my month: in fashion, my inspiration for my fashion, my purchases this month, me & my Grandad, an old photo of my Nan when she was a teenager, my anniversary gifts & my 7 year anniversary:

I’ve now finished all my Marilyn books and about to read my Audrey books, I would definitely recommend all of those books.

Thanks for reading!

A long hot Old Hollywood Style Summer…

It’s been a while since my last blog post, hope you are all well!

Last night I came back from a girls holiday in Majorca, Spain. I had a lot of fun with my sister Faye and our friend Jess but it was also a chance to wear my new bikini’s and dress up in the evenings! Especially as it was boiling!

I haven’t posted for a few weeks before my holiday, so also here are some of my favourites; from polka dot bikinis, shirt dresses, strappy dresses to make up and my inspiration for these.

I am always inspired by Old Hollywood actresses aswell as new media culture celeb’s following the vintage style, such as: Zooey Deschanel, Christina Hendricks, and occasionally Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift.

You don’t have to like fashion blogs to like this blog, just enjoy the rare old hollywood images!

I am also on Tumblr now, I post on there nearly everyday, so follow me at:

Vintage, 1940’s &1950’s Wedding Style.

Hope you are all well!

Last weekend I went to one of the best weddings I have ever been to: a 1950’s inspired wedding!

First off I would like to give my congrats again the happy couple: Mr Tom O’Hagan & Mrs Imari May O’Hagan!

This wedding the bride Imari was her own wedding planner: she made/bought the decor, made the cake, made the invitations, her and Tom also bought all the vintage crockery, flowers, champagne and even did the catering!  I really could go on!

The wedding was complete with a BBQ, Afternoon tea in the style of a Jubilee street party, Photo-booth, Jukebox and Band!

All the guests helped with baking cakes, scones, making sandwiches and instead of a photographer everyone helped with taking photos of the moments that were priceless!

Here are some photos of this spectacular wedding that I took:

(My yellow dress in the photos is from Hell Bunny, bag from Primark, shoes from Topshop & jewellery from Marks & Spencer’s.)

If you’re thinking of having a vintage style wedding there are so many different places to get inspiration from.

In one of my recent blog posts about my favourite books, I featured a book called “Vintage Wedding Style”, which I took many photos inside the book.

Books, Pinterest, Tumblr, Google, Youtube and Instagram give so much inspirational pictures and videos on how to achieve that vintage wedding you’ve been dreaming of!

Here are some of my favourite inspirational photos:

I seriously could go on!

And as always, thanks for reading,
